RSS and P2P

A while ago, I read about someone trying to push RSS feeds through a BitTorrent client. At the time, I was horribly naive and didn’t understand the point of sending a condensed version of a webpage through a P2P app. Recently, I downloaded and installed Newz Crawler, which is an RSS reader, and realized why that might be a good idea. This app is capable of loading 100′s of RSS feeds at set intervals. Image downloading 50 web pages every hour. Now, multiply that by 1000 users. Suddenly, all the great RSS feeds are being DOSed by the people trying to read them. I have a nickel for the folks that produce the P2P RSS feed distributor.
