August 9/2011, Rain at last!! I do hope it continues for the day we desperately need the rain especially for all the farmers. So lets see what's been happening our weekend was good way to hot but I survived stayed in mostly. Saturday was our day for errands and food shopping than we headed home to spend a quiet day together we planed a very nice dinner for just the 2 of us and later a movie. We ordered bridesmaids hubby really didn't want to watch it but he did for me. I had been really looking forward to seeing it and then ended up very disappointed. Sunday we decided to head out I wanted to go to sears they had a bra sale on up to 50 & 70 % off on my bras and they are very expensive, we need lots of support. Glad I went they also had a huge jewelry sale on I am always looking for pretty clip earrings. I can not have my ears pieced I am very sensitive and get terrible infections, some clips even cause my ears to blister if I wear them to long. Well I found something totally new that I did not know about magnetic earrings. I tried on a pair and they felt fine so decided to buy them, I have thirty days to return them if I have any problems. Wore them all day and really liked them was a little worried I might knock one off but so far so good. They are very pretty just what I like in an earring tiny not big and gaudy. So I am thinking I might be on to something here. Rest of the day we spent relaxing in the gazebo and keeping cool. Forecast says we are going to have a cool down over the next few days that sure would be terrific. I definitely have come to the conclusion I am not a summer person at all, summers have just become way to hot. And for me this is not a good thing I swell, I can not walk and if I am out for very long I get physically ill. I am so over summer had enough on to more comfortable temperatures. August 5/2011, Late morning taking a break here to cool down and rest my feet they are swollen real bad today so it is very slow going. After I empty the dishwasher and sweep up the floor in here I am done for the day, going to go take a long cool shower and get ready for the weekend. May have been a short week because of the holiday Monday but it sure did not feel that way for hubby and I. We are so looking forward to a do nothing weekend going to breakfast Saturday morning than it's off to the market and then home to sit and relax. We have a special dinner planned just for us sort of a late anniversary dinner we did nothing special on Wednesday. I have a bottle of our favorite wine in the fridge and some steaks defrosting as well. According to our weather man we have 4 more days of this horrid heat and humidity and then it's back to more seasonal temperatures. I sure hope so much more of this and I might not make it. I am so tired all the time my feet and legs swell so bad standing is painful let alone trying to walk. And I have the AC on constantly keeps me cool if I sit still but trying to anything and I get so hot I swear I will melt or burst into flames. We had no internet yesterday our router died Wednesday night so Leslie had to pick up a new one and get it hooked up last night. So I spent part of yesterday adding more graphics and finally I put together some new stationery which I am hoping to get up later today. Well nothing more to ramble on about so I will say good by for now. Till we blog again.

August 2/2011, Holidays are over for now one more week in September and then it is just a day here and there. Father was up bright and early to get back to work he wanted to clean off his desk and it is only half a day for him. It is golf this afternoon. Me I am trying to get the house back in order it's slow going even with the air on I am still swelling up, my feet are terrible and it is very difficult to get around. But I am not a quitter lots of breaks and I will get what I want done for today. The heat still rages on and no relief in site for the first half of August. I don't know what I hate most the heat or being sealed in the house still, spend over 6 months of winter with everything shut up tight and it's still the same even in the summer. I have said it before and I will say it again the weather has gone crazy. Well that's my rant on that subject on to other things. Chores are going well father got the border in around the new tree all we need now are the fall bulbs to put in and the mulch come next spring. All the lighting is put in at the base of the tree and it looks very nice I like the pale blue it was a good choice. Father could not find what he wanted for the front porch so we put that off till next spring and we will have it done for us. We want it resurfaced in a red barn color with the silver flecks threw it. We saw it at the home show and loved it, costs a bit but it is worth it and it will match our front door. We started the mid summer clean up plants just don't hold up well in this retched heat. Lots of hummingbirds flitting around now all the babies are out and on there own so we now have them to enjoy as well. I decided this morning that it is time to purge the kitchen again to many things I no longer need nor use, so I got a box stated for all that. Not cooking tonight father will eat at the club so that makes it very easy for me. After this goes up I have the deck to tidy up and then back in to finish cleaning the great room. As summer winds down I want to try and be a better blogger I don't come in near as much any more. But since we moved there is very little drama going on things are peaceful out here in the country. July 22/2011 The heat wave rages on and gets worse with each passing day, yesterday it hit 120 with the humidity I remember some hot summers and all my complaining but this summer is the worst ever and is breaking records all across Canada. Yesterday was our day trip to Chatham and parks blueberry farm we made it threw but were glad to be home at the end of the day even with the air on in the car it just wore you out going from the car to the store. Today I have opted to stay home and in, father is off to Port Dover for a day of fishing and relaxing. I could not take another day of this even if I am only out for five minutes at a time. I am having to change the hummingbird feeders every night even with my shade covers the nectar is very hot. All out door chores have been canceled to a later date. We are still keeping busy in side. Nothing more to report just wanted to post some new pictures of my plants and say hello. Thanks for peeping by.

 

July19/2011 The heat wave continues it is so hot that everything is in a haze the heat is that bad. And no relief till next week unless the forecast changes. Holidays have been going well getting lots of little chores out of the way. Father is still heading to the club this afternoon so i will have the afternoon to myself. Not sure what I will feel like doing if anything. Have lots to choose from but most likely will take a nap. Father just came in to inform me he has put ice packs in the birdbaths, so not to worry if I notice blue things bobbing around. Well father has just left for the club, so after this goes up it's nap time. Not cooking tonight, to hot and I am not hungry father will dine at the club. No plans for tomorrow yet just might stay in, Thursday it's off to Parks blueberry farm and then to Chatham. Thanks for peeping by.

July 16/2011, It is just brutal out doors today so we have spent most of our day in doors doing some chores around the house. Went out to the market early and got our shopping out of the way. Father is now preparing to make dinner he is making burgers but not just any old burger, it's an ooh la la burger served with onions in in a red wine reduction fresh mushrooms, brie cheese and baby lambs lettuce. We were going to dine in the gazebo but now have decided to dine in doors just to hot out there. Probably will order a movie for later or if it cools down enough we will sit out and finish the wine. Tomorrow we are going into the city to deliver my old dishwasher I had a portable at the old house, really I don't know why we brought it other than it was practically new. But finally we sold it to a friend of our sons so the 2 of them will drop it off. Then the 2 of them are going to go pick up the stones for around the tree we planted in the spring. We picked up the flood light for it today it's solar so I like that. Then it's home and father is cooking again steaks we are having company over. It will be another scorcher of a day hope I can get threw it. So holidays are off to a good start we are having lots of fun in spite of the heat. Well am off to watch father cook. July 15/2011, Time for holidays!! Hubby will be home around 4:30 and then we have 2 fabulous weeks together. I am just about done the house chores just the dusting to do. Then I can sit back and ignore the house for the next 2 weeks, I still have Tuesdays to do a little tidying it is golf day. We are looking so forward to the next 2 weeks lots of plans, some yard work, day trips visiting and having friends over. And just time for us to sit back and relax and enjoy each others company. Forecast says it's going to be hot over the next 2 weeks and with that comes the chance of storms. Will enjoy sitting in the gazebo and watching the rain. As usual not a lot has been going on we just take each day as it comes and enjoy it to the fullest. Hubby tells me work is slow right now always is this time of the year another month and it will be crazy. They have put up 2 more houses on the other side of us not sure if they are sold or just gong on the market, seems strange there is already 2 homes over there with for sale signs on them and 2 empty lots here on our street. We all wish they would fill these first then continue across the way. Later this afternoon Dalis will be by with my Avon and to visit for a bit, always nice to see her. Going out to dinner it's fish Friday at our diner here and boy is it good and way to much food I always bring home a doggie bag. Tomorrow is market and then errands it will be a relaxing day. July 6/2011, Trip over and all most back to normal. We had a terrific time Philadelphia is beautiful the scenery was gorgeous would go back just to see it in the fall. It is a very long drive over 9 hours but some of that was bathroom breaks and dinner and of course a little shopping in New York. But still a very long drive coming home was still about nine hours, we got home Sunday night just after 11pm. The family reunion was a huge success Rose did an amazing job of putting it all together. Everyone was there except for Gerri and Helen---of course that was to be expected, so sad what is going on there. Any way we arrived at Rose's just after 9pm Giz and Zeke were already there they had been there since the 22nd. So good to see Giz again, she is such a special lady I love her dearly. It was great to see everyone Rose is fantastic and her home was so warm and welcoming. We slept in the oriental room it was very comfortable and we had our own private bathroom. Gotta love that. Friday we all had things we wanted to do we headed off shopping. Friday night we all just sat at the house and relaxed. Saturday David arrived Rose picked him up in Hershey. I got reacquainted with family members and met all the new additions. Joe has really grown up and has 2 children of his own Garnet has 2 children as well. The kids are very nice quiet and respectful. All in all it was a perfect day later in the evening around 10 there was a huge fireworks display at a park across from Rose's we all sat in the back yard and watched it and boy was it a show! And Sunday we headed home before all the July 4th traffic the drive was good no problems coming across the border it was quick and painless. We were well within our limit. I saw on the news that Monday was a different story some places there was up to a 4 hour wait. After we got home we just put the perishables away and went to bed. Monday we slept very late after coffee we started unpacking the van and put everything away rest of the day we just rested. Tuesday was back to work for father I did my unpacking and cleaned ny suitcase and put that away. Got started on the laundry and some house work all that running in and out sure dirty's up the floors. After that I had the deck to clean up plants to water feeders to clean and change for my hummingbirds. Finally it was time to relax father had golf so the rest of the day was mine. And today I am pretty much back to normal, have a lot of catching up to do on my computer but it will get done when I feel like it I am in no big hurry. Friday father is off I have a dentist appointment and then we have some errands I an looking for a cabinet to set my ice maker on in the laundry room bought that down there real cheap. it was on sale for 119.00. Finally I won't have to buy bags of ice for the summer or party's. Saturday we are having a taco and movie party so it will be greatly appreciated. Well getting late here and I need to start thinking about what to make for dinner. Thanks for peeping by, till we blog again.

June 21/2011, First day of summer!! Will be hot here so not sure if i will be out later in the afternoon probably will work on my noth page. Wow it was the 12th I was last in here seems to be getting longer and longer. Well not much happening so not a lot to write about. Our summer appears to be pretty laid back no big plans other than the reunion coming up. Can hardly believe that we leave next week for that. And june is all but over it sure flew by. Fathers day was very nice we sent father off for the day to golf with his buddy's. Leslie cooked and prepared a terrific dinner for the family, it was a very relaxing day for all of us. Even the weather was perfect. As always i am playing catch up both in the house and on my computer and neither is going well. Mail is backed up to forever and the house well i am just going to call the cleaning service and they can do it. Been having a hard time with my back last few days don't know what i did to aggravate it this time but it was real bad again. Have enough problems on a daily basis don't need more pain on top of what I all ready deal with. Time to close and maybe see what I feel like getting in to. Thanks for peeping by.

 

June 12/2011, And very cold ! What happened? In door day windows closed and the fireplace on. Father decided to go into work since it is not a nice day it will help him get ahead of things. I am not doing much of anything it's pretty much another me day. Been doing a little tidying up, changed the hummingbird feeders and got the others all cleaned and ready for next time. Didn't do much yesterday we went for breakfast in the morning before my hair appointment then we had food shopping and some errands. After we got home I had the dishwasher to empty and father had a few out door chores. While he did that I had my pots to take care of watering deadheading to do and some to fertilize. The tropical's take a lot of fertilizing and really don't like a slow release type. Dinner we did sliders on the bbq then a movie and early to bed. Today I think we are just staying home father will be cooking the steaks later and other than that we have no real plans a movie tonight as usual and early to bed again. It is hard to believe it is all most middle of June and Sunday is fathers day. We made no big plans for this year father wants it quiet and laid back a day of golf and dinner with just us, Leslie will be cooking that day he has his menu all planned and even I am looking forward to it. June 8/2011, End of May was my last post, getting longer all the time between visits. Life is pretty much the same as always, just trying to cope with the weather and each days surprises. Could be much worse but it still is annoying, one day hot next cold and then there is today it is a scorcher. It is just a little after noon and it is all ready 30C with the humidity making it feel like 102F. And with this heat comes severe thunder storms. And then tomorrow the forecast is to be on the cool side, it will be a welcome relief . We had a real bad storm come threw Monday night we woke about 5am to the sound of the rain beating on the back of the house the winds were 105K trees were down every where power was out in some places and some flooding as well. Our one tree in the back was pulled out of the ground. Luckily it was a new tree and the root ball was in tact and nothing broken so Les was able to get it back into the ground last night. And then there was the lightning it was very scary the weather station reported that there were 8000 strikes in les than an hour it was just terrifying. So here I am still going on about the weather and I hear it won't be getting any better soon. On a happier note we have started getting ready for our trip to PA for the family reunion. We are not leaving till the end of the month but there is lots to do. Our neighbors will be taking care of the house while we are away. Next father has to get the car in to have a though going over before we leave. I have to get me ready and that means a trip to the hair dresser then a pedicure and manicure got to look pretty. Looking forward to this trip should be lots of fun. Other than the trip coming up not much more going on around here, father is golfing again this makes him happy his Tuesday at the club and when ever else he can get out there. Yesterday was my sister in-laws birthday, happy birthday Rose. Been trying to call but you must be out enjoying yourself. Well I need to get off of here still have the bedrooms to swiffer and then the laundry will be ready to fold. Thanks for peeping by.
